AF 4kn sector drives support on Perc, Poweredge, Powervault

Been hunting for information on sector size 4kn Advanced Format support on Perc, PowerEdge and PowerVault. Dell published a document about these specs  however it does not mention specific Dell hardware.

Anyone know if 4kn is supported on Perc 700/i, PowerEdge R710 (if not, which Perc/PowerEdge) ?

What I did find about PowerVault is that it only mentions 512e support on the drives listed for use with MD1200

Hello

4k native sector support is a feature of our latest generation PERC9 controllers(H730). No previous PERCs support 4Kn. The specification sheet lists 4Kn if it is supported.

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

does the PERC 830 Controller support a MD1200 with 4kn disks?

Best Regards

Hello

does the PERC 830 Controller support a MD1200 with 4kn disks?

The PERC H830 does support 4kn/4 KB native block size.

The H830 may work with an MD1200, but it is not supported. You can view the supported controllers under the external storage tab of the PERC page:
