r430 blank status screen, no idrac
got an r430 where the front LCD is just amber and blank, the idrac nic is now dead, and i can't install a bios update. something somewhere is not communicating with the bios. i tried reseating all the cables, no joy. since the service tag is on the front LCD, i can't get that either. (not that it has warrenty anymore anyway)
can anybody tell me what to check in this case? worried it's going to cave and i'll be caught in an outage.
it does boot for now, all the storage, networking, ram is working fine.

Hello jwsl224,
Try a flea power drain, and reseat control panel cable first:
drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables and Network cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed). After flea power drain, system has to set for 3 minutes for DRAC to reset without any power plugged in.
**Reseat the control panel cable at the system board end and control panel side.
Then plug in NIC and power but wait 2 minutes before power on to give DRAC time to initialize.
Do you see any faults on the monitor during POST?
Can you post an image of any errors or failures you see?
Is Lifecycle Controller saying disabled?
These steps should clear that:
-boot to F2 -> System Setup -> iDRAC Settings -> Lifecycle Controller to check status
-Choose: Lifecycle Controller set to Enabled
-Collect System Inventory on Restart set to Enabled.
-Cancel Lifecycle Controller Actions set to Yes.

hey charles,
thank you for stopping by. i tried the flea power drain, waiting even longer than 3 minutes, just to be sure. i tried also reseating any of the cables running to the front control panel; no joy.
the lifecycle controller has gone missing, it seems. i have attached the errors that show up after post.

I'm sorry I was confusing this with something else. My sincere apology. This looks like idrac has not been reset, actually. The worst case scenario we will have to look at replacing motherboards.

Hello jwsl224,
The iDRAC is embedded to the system board. You may need a system board replacement as Young mentioned.
I have a few more steps you can try:
See if clearing the NVRAM or reset DRAC to defaults helps then last shot would be try iDRAC Recovery Procedure with firmimg.d7
Try Clear NVRAM. You may need to reset some custom BIOS settings such as : Boot Mode and Boot Order.
Clear NVRAM - there is a map under the lid to show the jumper location. Shut down, Set jumper to the Clear position, power on and Post up to the jumper error, shut down and return jumper to original location.
You may try resetting the DRAC to defaults and reconfigure
Boot to F2 > iDRAC Settings > Reset iDRAC configurations to defaults
Then Boot to F2 > iDRAC Settings > Network to reconfigure.
iDRAC Recovery Procedure directions with firmimg.d7
https://dell.to/3qdgUkA
Download iDRAC firmware:
File Format: An application
File Name:iDRAC8_2.40.40.40_A00.exe
Execute the file to extract files to find the firmimg.d7 file
https://dell.to/3MU9aNb
If none of those work, next step would be system board replacement.
For the system board; This is the Service part number we use:
Pn#3XKDV - Motherboard - ASSY,PWA,PLN,PER530/R430
Call in to Dell Sales and ask for the Spare Parts Department to get a quote for the system board.
