Poweredge T410 All options
Hello everyone,
I recently got my very first server and i am the proud owner of a T410 and I am searching the web looking for any and all upgrades i can do to my server to get peak performance out of it, currently it has:
2X Xeon E5530 Cpus
8Gbs of Memory in total (8x1gb)
I am looking to use this server for many things, my goals are, Nas, Minecraft and Valheim servers, as well as a little plex,
In my small research i have been able to come up with (not much on the web), I have read that the possibilty of upgrades may go as high as a X5675 and 128gb of memory, I have also found that a Quadro P2000 maybe possible for video encoding.
so i am asking Fellow T410's what upgrades have you sucessfully completed and what is the maximum i can do to my T410 for maximum powah (lol)
Also be noted that as of this post i am awaiting replacement HDD caddys as mine came with none although i am able to sucessfully boot to bios so will be able to answer any bios related questions

Is there anyway to make sure that they work before purchasing them because I thought I read something about a revision requirement

PowermanT410,
The T410 will support up to the 128GB of memory, but it doesn't show it supports the X5675 processor. The largest I see is the X5660, on that platform.
Let me know if this helps.

PowermanT410,
Are you referring to the dimms or processor?
The dimms don't look to be bound by revision, but the processor does look to be limited to 5500 series on the first version, then the 5600 series on the second. You can confirm you have the second revision if it has the symbol II in the System Revision Field, which is visible through Open Manage Server Administrator (OMSA) and the iDRAC GUI. In addition, these servers will be physically marked with a 12mm wide by 6mm tall rectangular label containing the symbol II will be. They will be white characters on a black background.
If you can't locate that you can also Private Message your svc tag.

Thank you, I received it and reviewed the details and you have the 1st revision of motherboard installed (part M638F), so you would be limited to the 5500 series. Now from what you have installed I can only see a single processor larger that is listed (part # J132J), the 5540.
Let me know if this helps.

Could you tell me the part number for the motherboard that could handle the 5670 if I wished to upgrade it?

It would be part # Y2G6P for the second revision, or part # 29F01 for the latest and third revision.

Can the third revision do more than the second and would they all fit in the case the same?

Not from what I am seeing, as both have the pinout required for the 5600 line of processors.

It looks to be printed between the CPU and dimm slots.

Hello, when I checked them, both of them seem to belong to R410. You can also check your server's part numbers via the support website. You can enter your service tag and after that, you can see "View product specs" on the right side https://dell.to/3plOkun
