Only 1280x1024 Monitor Resolution on PowerEdge 840
Greetings community,
I need help getting my 22" Westinghouse PnP Monitor to display above 1280x1024 resolution on an OS modified PowerEdge 840 that I'm now using as a workstation - after my other machine bit the dust...
System Details:
PowerEdge 840, Zeon 3060 2.40 GHz, 4GB RAM,- OS: Windows 7 Ultimate - 64-bit (Aero Theme disabled).
When Windows Small Business Server 2003 32-bit was on the machine is had the full range of resolution options, but now I can only get up to 1280x1024. The generic driver will not update any further saying its up-to-date.
* Can anyone share and info/resources on how to improve/increase my resolution range please?

YES!
Your driver suggestion did the trick, now running at 1680x1050 and everything looks the way its supposed to look. This was really an issue for me as I'm a photographer who has to edit my work on this machine until I can upgrade to another, newer high-end workstation...
@THEFLASH1932 - Thank You So Much! Your Awesome . . .

It is a limitation of the generic video driver. Unless you get a different (better) driver that does support the higher resolutions, it won't be possible.
Your ONLY option (as ATI does not have drivers for this video chipset), is to use the drivers for 2008R2:
Also, try lower refresh rates and/or bit-level display to try to get higher resolution (you can pretty much count the "wide" resolutions out) - for example you might be limited to 1024x768 at 65MHz or 32-bit color, where you might be able to get 1600x1200 only at 55MHz or in 24-bit color.

With 16MB of graphics memory, this system doesn't really lend itself to graphical work ... but I'm glad I could help.
