Lifecycle controller fault on a XC730xd

Hi Dell people.

Recently the IDRAC has started to play up on my XC730xd /R730, i.e. dropping connection quite often and sometimes will just not work.

However, as of today i cannot even get into my lifecycle controller nor access my idrac.

i have done the following in no particular order in attmpted to fix the issue.

  • Performed NVRAM clear procedure.
  • Powerd off, drained power & unplugged all peripherals.
  • Reset idrac through the BIOS.
  • Updated the BIOS to the latest verison.

However i still can't get to the LC.

from what i can see is that i cannot even update the LC as it just gets stuck into a boot loop and the idrac locks up.

Any suggestions?

i have attached photos with a number of the errors showing.

Hello,

You have done most all the recommended things to try.

Lastly you may try iDRAC Recovery Procedure with firmimg.d7:

Directions: https://dell.to/3LM3aVx

If that does not fix the iDRAC then you will most likely need to replace the system board.

Near the CPU socked and DIMM sockets there is a QR sticker with a DP/N number on it. That is your system board part number.

You can contact Sales and ask for the Spare Part department to get a quote and purchase.
