Hello,

Can you let us know your iDRAC and BIOS version you currently have?

The iDRAC can show you your current firmware versions.

If it is very old it may need to be stepped up.

The updates can be found here:

You can also use the LifeCycle Controller (LCC) for updating system firmware:

If the updates are failing or hanging part way through or not applying after "finishing" you can attempt an NVRAM Clear on the system board (as long as you have physical access or Smart Hands to do it for you)

-Gracefully shut down system
-Remove chassis from power and remove Power Supplies.
-Press and hold power button for approx. 15 seconds to discharge all residual current.
-Open chassis and follow below steps:
   • Locate the NVRAM_CLR jumper on the system board.
   • Remove the jumper plug from the NVRAM_CLR  jumper.
   • Move the Jumper from Pin's 3-5 to pins 1-3 for ten seconds
   • Move the jumper back to Pins 3-5 (default).
   • Power the machine back on with KVM connected.
   • Monitor and ensure POST completes and and has no additional errors.
   • Try to update the firmware again.
