Salama_Habib,

I am not seeing that HBA listed for the R730, that doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't going to work in the R730, just that it hasn't been tested in that platform. So it would come down to trying it.

Let us know how it goes.

Yes the QLE2562 (part # MFP5T, or part # RW9KF for the low profile) is supported in the R730.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks Chris for your reply.

I'm sorry but  I have another question now , what if I installed generic Qlogic card like this one ( QLogic QLE2562 Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter ) , does it will work , I need to be sure because I have 7 DELL R730 and I have to choose a compatible HBA before buying them.

Hello,

As you said that Qlogic QLE2562 is supported in the R730.

After setting up this HBA card into my server, ESXi on R730 and R740 connect to SAN storage via these HBA cards are working fine.

The only problem is server booting time. It will stuck in this screen about 25-30 minutes. (firmware initialize ?)

Would you please tell me how to solve this problem ? Thanks for your kindly help.

Hello,

Firmware updates might be help. Can you perform iDRAC, BIOS and QLE2562 update when the server has downtime? https://dell.to/3qQeBlv

If the firmwares are up to date, I think you can check CSIOR enabled or disabled(Collecting System Inventory on Restart). When you enable the CSIOR property, hardware inventory and part configuration information are discovered and compared with previous system inventory information on every system restart. I believe disabling CSIOR might help fast POST.

To disable CSIOR for 12th and 13th generation of Dell PowerEdge servers:
  1. Select F2 during the post to enter System Setup.
  2. Select iDRAC Settings and click Lifecycle Controller.
  3. For Collect system inventory on Restart (CISOR), set value to Disabled

Hope that helps!
