Dell Poweredge R210 ii Hard drive replacement causes no boot (light warning 1, 2 & 3
I bought two Dell PowerEdge R210 II Servers for my home lab, one running Windows Server 2022 and it works perfectly. The second one had no hard drives so I bought 4 x 250GB Samsung SSDs to run VMWare on bare metal. However, when installing the four drives on the second server it does the initial startup (fans, numbers, and BLUE light) but no visuals on the monitor, it does not even reach the splash screen to enter bios to set the boot order. After a few minutes, the fans are idling, and the warning numbers 1, 2, and 3 stay lit with no visuals.
I took these four drives and installed them on a Dell I7 tower, formatted them, and successfully installed VMWare through a bootable USB thumb drive. The tower boots up 100% and I can access all drives and even log into VMWare from another PC.
I am not sure if I am missing a setting on the PowerEdge to make it recognise the drives and reach the bios for me to update settings.
Your help will be much appreciated.

Hello Pierre,
where did you connected the 4 SSD of the R210? Which RAID controller?
Did you create a hardware RAID?
This diagnostic code means "other failure"

Thanks

@DELL-Marco B thank you very much for your response. I do not have a RAID controller card fitted to the PCI express slot on this server. I however do have one fitted to the other server. Do I always need a RAID controller on these servers?
