Dell 1920W (Tower) UPS set up of Boost Function. (Reposted as last one was removed...)

Hello

I have brought a Dell 1920W (tower) to support my Alienware Area 51 as the power in my area fluctuates too much dropping it out.

I've upgraded the Firmware to the latest version and am running the latest Node software.

If I remove the plug from the UPS the output voltage flicks to 240 volts (I've set this amount) and the Area 51 and screen does not miss a beat. It's perfect.

Now for the issue:

The output voltage follows the input voltage, so if the input drops inset of the UPS keeping the output at the set point it does nothing. So when the input volts drop to less than 220 the Area 51 drops out. It's taken two hard drives out so far and I loosing a lot of work and time.

The boost function in the manual clearly states that when boost mode is set the output will be held at the set point without switching to battery mode.

I've attached a screen shot of the logged voltage lines. You can clearly see the two times I remove the plug and the input drops to zero while the output flicks to 240 volts.

Then you can see the input and output voltage follow each other right down to 220 volts.

The blue line is input voltage the brown line is the output voltage.

I hope you can help.

Thanks Tackturbo

Hello Just a little more in for you.

Two screen captures, one from this site answered by Lynn (Dell) and the second from the manual for the 1920W Unit.

So I'm assuming it does exist, but the method for setting it up seams to be strangely elusive.

So, after asking for help on this matter from the Facebook site I get a message that Alienware do not support UPS's

I did not ask DELL to send the request to Alienware I ask for a little assistance from DELL UPS support.

Does the Boost function exist on a 1920W, Yes or No?

Come on chaps, step up to the mark.
