Power supply after firmware update
Hello,
I tried to update the firmware of the power supply unit on an R630. After an hour, one power supply has the current firmware, but the other has been at "FW: 08:00:00" for an hour. Both are still offline.
What can I do to get the server back online ?

Slighter,
Just to verify, can you confirm if you have rerun the update on the power supply in question, if so what do you see? Any errors?
Also, if you remove the power supply in question, and just having the updated power supply installed, can you power up successfully?
Let me know.

Can you update BIOS and iDRAC FW to latest and check the behaviour?

Slighter,
Depending on the OS installed on the server you can run the update from the OS, as to update with the lifecycle controller would require rebooting before the update.
Now a quick question, with the server up and running, can you verify what the lights are doing on the power supply?
Also, when you swap the power supplies, is there any change in error or behavior?
Let me know.

Hello,
After removing both power supplies and plugging them back in, I was able to restart the server. When booting, the server stopped again with:
UEFI0023: BIOS is unable to send the End of POST messsage to Management Engine because the Management Engine is not responding .
Then I unplugged both power supplies and plugged in only the PS1 again. Then I was able to start the server again.
Now I have plugged in the PS2 again. It says error again: PS1 present, configuration error, FW: 08.00.00, but the server is still running.
Can I try to patch the power supply again with the Lifecyle Manager during operation? If so, can the OS stay up for this?

Chris,
I'm running VMware.
The handle of the power supply (PS2) unit flashes green. The handle of PS1 is green.
I can try it on Saturday and see what happens when I swap the two power supplies.
