Enabling FTR

On an R650 with 2x 1400W supplies, why is PSU Redundant not an option for Redundancy Policy in Power Configuration?

Jaimie.harris,

I would start with verifying if the PSU Hot Spare is disabled or not, as Hot Spare must be disabled in order to use redundancy.

Let me know if this helps, and what you see.

Chris H, I can confirm that Hot Spare is indeed disabled so this is not the reason

Hi,

Could you run an FR Policy?

  1. Enter the BIOS setup.
  2. Go to the Power Management section.
  3. Find the option for Power Supply Redundancy.
  4. Change the setting from None to Redundant.
  5. Save your changes and exit the BIOS setup.

my apologies for the delay

there is no Power Management section in the BIOS that I can locate

there is a Power Configuration section in the iDRAC Settings of System Setup but that offers me the same options as in the iDRAC web GUI

am I missing something?

Would you confirm if the server is up to date on BIOS, idrac, and the power supplies? I am curious if that may be the issue.
