Clear about hot-plug redundant cooling for PowerEdge R650
Hi,
I read the spec of R650, there is Hot-plug redundant cooling feature. But I can not find the guide to hot-plug fan in the guide. With Safety Instructions, we need to power off the server before replacing the fan. Anyone can have me to clear that? Thanks so much.

Hi tuanla,
the Fan is hot-plug not hot-swap which means you could add a Fan when the system is running but not remove it during the system is running.
Did you have any further questions?
Regards Martin

Sorry for my words are not clearly. I know the different between hot-plug and hot-swap. I means I can't find the guide to do hot-plug without powering off server. So I want to make sure about that.
And one more question. After the new fan is hot-plug, so I can check the status immediately in IDRAC?

Once new fan is inserted status update in iDRAC will take few minutes.
