what are some compatible CPU for 390
Hello, i have a optiplex 390 motherboard : 0M5DCD my current CPU= i5-2400. i wanna upgrade my CPU but im afraid its gonna be incompatible, is there higher cpus i can buy. thank you for your time.

thats as high as i can get ? i7 2600's performance isnt THAT much greater

Yes that is top cpu for this motherboard and yes not much enhancement.
also if you choose 2600k the chipset and dell bios does not support overclock.
for better cpu need to upgrade motherboard.

No. Sockets and chipsets are entirely different.

False. 390 only takes Intel CPU's.
