SupportAssist does not provide auto scan

OptiPlex 7000 Small Form Factor

OptiPlex 7000 Small Form Factor

In the past couple of days, SupportAssist either does run the auto scan, but gets stuck on 100% complete without giving any more information, or the auto scan feature does not even begin to scan at all. I'm on Windows 11 24H2, on an OptiPlex 7000 SFF, Intel Core i7 12700.

Luckily, the manual listing of drivers does show up correctly.

Oh, I should add, I uninstalled SupportAssist, rebooted, and reinstalled SupportAssist. No change to this behavior.

SA is Dell AI bloatware. It has super user privilege. You may do better without it causing trouble.  If the pc is working fine there is no need to scan it on regular basis.  Sometimes SA downloads and installs driver update on its own without your consent.  You would do better manage your driver update by yourself judiciously without AI mishaps.

@redxps630

Ya, I took your advice. Especially because you can still see the list of all the device drivers you need, and their release date, even without SupportAssist.

I'll try it this way for the time being. SupportAssist auto scan was still not working when I tried it last, earlier today. The scan was not even starting. Just sat at 0%.
