Optiplex 990 SFF, PSU upgrade questions

Alright. I picked up a super cheap Optiplex 990 SFF with an I7 2600. The original plan is/was to transplant the system into a bigger case. But its some funky size MOBO. So its not that cut and dry. Gotta get crafty but no big deal. What im wondering is will this computer accept a larger power supply? I see it has a 24pin ATX connector and the 4 pin like a normal board. Ive read the board is power limited but would that affect a card that is powered by a PSU connection or does it still have to draw from the board alot. Im looking to put one of my old 970s in it. But if this isn't possible ill just pull the processor and get a new motherboard.

Thank you.

A low profile card might work being that its not is long ans i think i recall seeing pictures with one in it.  I put a full size card in mine An R9 380X and it completely covered the 20 pin connectior on the mother board. So i had to move the card with an extension cable.

thats a sweet setup what processor did it come with? I5 or i7?

i7 2600, I currently have a Radeon HD 7750 low profile on the slots, let me go home and look for the 20 pin connector, thanks

Gigabyte 1050Ti OC 4G will fit, space is only 170 mm (card H=37 L=167 W=68.9 mm) but MSI version (182 x 69 x 35 mm) will hit the 20 pin ATX.  Potentially there is another small white connector south of the ATX 20 pin which maybe a little bit high but if the card is really 37 mm thick then it should clear it.

However, thinking about the pretty high power supply (Corsair CS 550 Watt) and card costs together, and the labor to redo the wiring to external PSU, its seems 1050Ti is a low bang for buck upgrade... it much slower than 1060 although no low profile of the latter exist or being promised

SFF PSU upgrade is not possible.

GT1030 Graphics card is working in SFF but NOT USFF because there are no slots in USFF.

Other area would be to max out the ram.

The slot is very narrow. and low profile.
