Optiplex 5070 SFF Adding dedicated video card
OptiPlex 5070 Small Form Factor
Having an issue after adding a dedicated video card.
When monitor is connected to card (instead of integrated display port), there is no video - and computer appears to halt on boot (no hard drive activity).
If one monitor is connected to integrated DP port and second monitor connected to dedicated card - both monitors display correctly.
Once computer has loaded OS (Win 11), disconnecting the monitor from the integrated DP and connecting to the dedicated card works correctly, i.e. both monitors display and are listed in the nvidia control panel.
So the dedicated card is working, it’s listed in the device manager, and is listed in the display settings in Windows.
Tried changing BIOS primary video settings to the dedicated card. Result -computer will not boot if a monitor is not connected to the integrated DP port. No boot/no video.
Changed BIOS to a ‘headless’ configuration to not halt during boot on warnings/errors. Result - computer will not boot if monitor not connected to onboard DP port.
Does anyone have a workaround for booting the computer with monitors connected to discrete/dedicated video card only?

Try clear CMOS settings via motherboard jumper. My similar 7070SFF w discrete Dell oem video card works fine with monitor connected to video card DP port.
I had tried three monitors too, one on integrated, two on video card, also worked.

@redxps630 thanks for the reply.
Cleared CMOS, unfortunately no change. Tried all the above-mentioned tests again with the reset - still no change in behavior.
Changing the primary display in the BIOS definitely changes the behavior, i.e. there is no display even with a monitor plugged into the onboard DP port, and the boot up hangs. To resolve, have to remove the card and boot without it for the BIOS to revert back to the auto setting and will then output signal to the monitor connected to the onboard DP port again.
Have tried turning secure boot off as well - still same behavior.
It appears to be requiring a 'handshake' with the monitor on the integrated onboard DP port to continue boot up. If it doesn't get it, it just hangs and waits indefinitely on the boot.
I'm wondering if it is somehow related to this (monitors in use are LG):
Dell DisplayPort Monitors Have No Video When Connected to Certain OptiPlex Desktops | Dell US
Overall very odd - I've never had a computer not be able to utilize a dedicated/discrete video card as its default.

Try a different monitor w DP port
regrading that link
”The workaround for this behavior is to power on the monitor first and then power on the system to ensure that the monitor can be detected.”

Re: computer will not boot if monitor not connected to onboard DP port.
my experience is that bios chooses only one monitor to display bios video. This may be called “primary display”. After post is complete and pc boots into Windows, if the display adapter has been updated to Intel graphics (UHD 630) and discrete Radeon graphics for Dell oem gpu then all display monitors connected to on board and discrete video card will have signal.
If it is a fresh Windows 10 install, it may still have the basic Microsoft display adapter and has not yet automatically updated driver, it can cause video card display issue.
OP please upload dev mgr screenshot of display adapter tab to show the current drivers.

What are you using for a GPU card?
