Optiplex 390 suddenly won't boot unless you is removed. Worked fine prior?

hello everyone,

So I have an optiplex 390 sff that I upgraded from i5 to i7. 16gb of ram a 1TB hdd and a Nvidia GTX 1050ti. Everything ran fine until I swapped everything over to a new case and I now get an orange blinking light on power button. When I press power nothing happens except the light continues it's steady blink? However. When I remove the gtx you it powers on like normal. Why 2ould the hpu suddenly keep it from booting when it was working just fine prior to case swap (into a replacement 390 sff case)? Any help greatly appreciated.

You swapped it into a new case, but was the new PSU the same wattage as the PSU in the old case? And I assume the same configuration worked fine in the old case as you stated.

this happens often when user swap case.  never mind that it all worked before swap.  you have an issue of no post when gpu is in currently.  many possibilities.  first of all, try replace cmos battery with a brand new CR2032, as co-volunteer brad would suggest for any optiplex model that is more than 3-5 years old.  then try clear cmos settings by RTCRST jumper reset on motherboard.

If possible, test 1050ti in another working desktop too.

the manual does not show where the jumper is on motherboard.  you would need to look closely at board and search for a small jumper with RTCRST or clear CMOS silkscreen.390 SFF390 SFF

have you tried clear cmos by motherboard jumper?

after that if still no POST with the gpu, need to test the gpu in another desktop.
