This is not infinite questions.

You have used all 3 of your wishes.

PCI-E version is not relevant.  The GT1030 works fine.  Its the EXACT card in the Video from my previous posting.

It will work.

HOWEVER

Secure Boot must be OFF

and Power supply MUST BE UPGRADED.

power supply is not standard so the 24 pin to 8 pin adapter is REQUIRED.

Oh, also I am a noob at computers and I was and I heard something about updating the bias, any other important updates I should get to keep my system ready for modern technology?

Also what version of pcie is my computer, 1.0, 2.0, or 3.0?

Can my computer support SATA 3.0 hard drives?

If it can only handle 2.0 there isn't a purpose in upgrading to an SSD, and I should just get the 7 200 HDD in that case.

3020 has crippled chipset.

DOES NOT DO AHCI.

7020 and 9020 do not have this issue.

Even with SATA 1 ports SSD's will be 500 percent faster.

SATA I (revision 1.x) interface, formally known as SATA 1.5Gb/s, is the first generation SATA interface running at 1.5 Gb/s. The bandwidth throughput, which is supported by the interface, is up to 150MB/s.

SATA II (revision 2.x) interface, formally known as SATA 3Gb/s, is a second generation SATA interface running at 3.0 Gb/s. The bandwidth throughput, which is supported by the interface, is up to 300MB/s.

SATA III (revision 3.x) interface, formally known as SATA 6Gb/s, is a third generation SATA interface running at 6.0Gb/s. The bandwidth throughput, which is supported by the interface, is up to 600MB/s. This interface is backwards compatible with SATA 3 Gb/s interface.

SSD makers recommend AHCI.

Can it work Yes.

HOWEVER improperly optimized SSD can be written to death in as little as a few hours.Unlike hard drives SSD's have a maximum number of writes.  PRO is still a better buy based on durability.  10 to 20 Times more life is significant. You will use 1 PRO drive for every 10 QVO drives.

The cheaper and cheaper SSD's available have FEWER writes before death.

Thank you. My budget is 100$. I only want 500gb. Which would be the best?

I expect 2 hours of gaming each day out of this pc. If I have to trade off storage for performance I can go as low as 250gb.

And is the motherboard sata 3? I am concerned that is 1 or 2 and your saying it will work because of backward compatibility.

The motherboard is SATA 2 and 3 and SSD will not improve performance.

SSD will improve boot times.  Thats it.

So a sata 3 500gb ssd wouldnt be faster than a 7200rpm drive? Gamers ssy ssd are way way better for gaming than 7200rpm.
