Dell 980 MT pwr_sw help

Hi I need help finding the pwr_sw for the Dell optiplex 980 MT. I looked around and haven't seen the label for it. I don't have the case or switch cable at the moment, so im trying to turn it on without it. Do any of you guys know? Also as a side question, do you need to plug in the cpu fan for the computer to power on?

The front panel connection is not standard like the average motherboard. The link below has pictures. You could try shorting 2 pins to get the unit to boot, but you are basically doing it blind. Possibly a moderator can lend further information.

As for the fan, it has to be connected otherwise the BIOS detects a problem and shuts down the system so the CPU does not overheat. That fan is monitored.

Can blindly shorting the pins damage the system?

The 980 power switch is a board and a cable. Connector 14 is the "Front Panel with LED's"  The 980 also has PROPRIETARY tiny 24 pin power supply connector.
