Another 9010 SFF question

yes you can use the moddiy Dell 19 pin cable adapter to make a 9 pin usb 2.0 header.

Note that the circuit board type 9010/7010 internal 19 pin front panel adapter works only for MT/DT (which use essentially same mobo) and such adapter does not work in 9010/7010 SFF. 

”DO NOT BUY THIS ADAPTER IF YOU HAVE AN SFF OR SMALL FORM FACTOR BOARD – IT WILL NOT WORK”

So this is probably why the circuit board type adapter does not work for 9010/7010 SFF.  The 19 pin out is the same.  The header is the same, but unlike the MT/DT board where the header is at the corner of board with empty space around it to fit the adapter circuit board, the SFF 19 pin socket is sandwiched btn back IO and a tall cap.  There isn’t enough real estate space to air drop a large adapter onto the socket.
