Why can't you use two DSL modems on one line?
Is this a technical issue or is it controlled by the DSL providers and they don't want you to use 2 modems?
Couldn't you power off one modem when you want to use the other?

You could and it would *probably* work, but why don't you post what you are trying to do and lets see what we all can come up with.
[Edit] I found your other thread below on this - I would approach the problem by moving the wireless router to a window in the back where you want to use the notebook wirelessly - get a Cat5 cable and run it to the window and place the router there. Then heed the security suggestions offered in the other thread.

Your wireless router might [should] include a switch -- that is, it has a cat-5 uplink port and one or more down-stream [internal network connection] cat-5 ports. You could run a giant cat5 cable from this to your basement, or you could even have wires put in the walls for it.
