This likely has something to do with Dell's long ago defunct Resolution Assistant, but without knowing which model computer or which verison of Windows you are running, it is impossible to answer your question. Post back with more information and perhaps we can help.

Did you actually read my reply of couple of months ago?  I had asked to orignal poster which model computer.  I ask you the same thing.  If it is an 8100, uninstall the Dell Resolution Assistant and it should clear up the problem.

Hi,

I am encountering the same message on a Dell 4100 with Windows/ME installed.  I can't connect to the internet any more with this one computer.

I am running a DSL connection through a router for 6 PCs, the other 5 are not affected.  I read your prior message about possibly uninstalling the Dell Resolution Assistant, but I need help to figure out how to do that.

Thanks,

Helga

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.  I have no idea whether or not Resolution Assistant was ever shipped with the 4100, but if it was and is still installed, then it should be listed in Add/Remove Programs.
