Studio 1735 Network Controller error

My Studio 1735 laptop has an exclamation by the network controller.  I have tried to update it, but it is unable to locate the driver for it even with the original CD or online.  It does not have a specific name for the network contoller or I would write in in the forum, but it is under "Other devices".  It will not allow me to connect wirelessly to networks.  My broadcam adapter is fine.  I have tried to download from Dell the drivers needed by putting in my service tag, but that didn't work.   I tried to restore my registry to an earlier date and that didn't work.  So...any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!  I need to take to work!!  Cable is not an option!!
