Java is messed up.
Something messed up my java. I went to play on Pogo & it said I needed to install Java. When I ran the test they had to check Java it said it was installed & working. However, I can't even access it through my control panel. When I click on it there is a message saying THE SYSTEM CANNOT FIND THE REGISTRY KEY SPECIFIED: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\JavaRuntime Environment\1.6.0.11. I don't know how to uninstall Java & reinstall it or even if that's the problem because when I look at my programs it appears Java is installed. Can someone help me?

Sher,
Usually when a computer doesn't want to install something, especially from Microsoft, yes it can be malware related.
Download Malwarebytes, update it and do a quick scan. If it finds anything then make a post in the Malware Removal Forum. Please tell them that you were having issues with installing Java, when you post.

I have had the same exact issue as Sher wrote about. What did she do to correct this problem?

It just stopped working one day. Did the removal, as instructed, but it didn't remove everything, so it said. The final comment I get is this...
The path C:\Documents and Settings\Fonda\Applications Data\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_12\jre1.6.0_12-c.msi cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package jre1.6.0_12-c.msi in a folder from which you can install the product Java 6 Update 23.
I've read everything on the Java site and tried doing it, but nothing works. Can't unistall, so I can reinstall.
Thanks

kfhac,
Have you scanned for Malware? Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware update it and do a quick scan. If it finds anything, post the log back here.

Make and model of your computer and opertaing system is helpful. 32-bit or 64-bit?
Do you have the operating system disk?
