ETHERNET 2 DOESN'T HAVE A VALID IP CONFIGURATION ERROR (WIN10)

hi, i just bought an inspiron 3650 i5, nvidia last week. though i can surf the net using YES GO dongle, it sometimes gives error messages or page not found. when i troubleshoot the network adapter 'ethernet 2' it gave error "ethernet 2 doesn't have a valid ip configuration". i have try to change the ip address, gateway, dns, ipconfig, etc but it still the same. i also follow blog from the web to deal with this problem but still fail. please advise.

To get rid of the Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration error in Windows 10, you can try to clean up all DNS cache first.

Next, renew IP and release it by using two commands below:

- ipconfig /renew

- ipconfig /release

then clean up all DNS cache again with:

- ipconfig /flushdns

Reboot your computer! If it doesn't work, then you should reset win sock with the following command:

- netsh winsock reset

and then restart your Windows 10 PC.

The last step you can try is to configure your IP address to be static, not dynamic. By that, you can control the IP settings instead of allowing your computer configures it automatically.

Hi sambakop,

Thanks for posting. Since the Yes Go dongle hasn't been tested for use with Dell products, it's difficult to troubleshoot this for you.  Are you able to connect to the internet through either wifi or ethernet?  What OS are you running, and is it compatible with the dongle?

Well, as I said before, Dell has not tested this.  I do not have a Yes Go to use, and I'm not familiar with the product.  Maybe some other users have experience with this and will answer.

Hello Sir,

I am having the same problem with this device. Unlike the previous post I am attempting to get this device to work with a Latitude 7400. I have attempted to release/renew and flushdns of this device.  All of which have proved to be unsuccessful.I have read that this device was not tested.  However I see that post was back in 2017.  Can you tell me if there is any new support for this device please?

Thank you
