Domain Login Issues
This one has stumped us for a while. With our faster PIV Dells, we have to wait between 30 and 45 seconds after the WinXP login prompt appears to log into the domain. If you log in too quickly, the domain login script doesn't execute.
Now, we realize that the network probably isn't ready yet, but is there a way to force the login prompt to wait on the network?

There is a Group Policy setting that makes XP 'wait for a network connection' before the logon box appears.
To cause Windows XP to always wait for network initialization, and behave like Windows 2000 clients in this regard, use Group Policy to navigate to Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / Logon. Double-click Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon and Enable this policy.
