Hi,

Please confirm if the Bluetooth mouse was working fine with Windows 7. If yes, would like to know whether you ran Windows 8 Upgrade Advisor before installing it on your system. It scans your current PC to see if it is ready for Windows 8 and then provides a compatibility report. To know more about the upgrade advisor you may refer to the link below:

Also, please mention the model number of the mouse and if you’ve installed any drivers for this device or is it working with the native drivers.

Please reply.

Thanks and Regards

it was working fine with W7 and I upgraded to W8 with Windows 8 Upgrade Advisor. I have no issues with my Bluetooth. The only problem is the mouse wheel which we use to scroll page up and down and the mouse side buttons for previous page and next page.

Hi,

Apologies for the late reply.

May I know what the status of the issue is? Please confirm if you have installed or updated the drivers for the mouse after upgrading to Windows 8. If yes, then where did you install it from? Also, could you please provide me model name of the mouse as well.

Thanks & Regards

I have upgraded my "DELL INSPIRON 1440" LAPTOP from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 8 Pro recently. Windows Upgrade assistant did inform an issue with WIDCOMM Broadcom Bluetooth Software. So when I was updating to Win8Pro, it asked me to uninstall. It also uninstalled the DELL ALPS Touch Point software. But after installation, the touch pad on the laptop was working fine and also the bluetooth mouse was working without the scroll wheel. Windows8Pro also removed the "Bluetooth Icon" that used to be displayed on the taskbar in blue colour. I was able to install the WIDCOMM Broadcom software from the Dell Resource CD (filename: R228749.exe) or from the internet. After installing this I can see the blue bluetooth icon in the taskbar. But the mouse has lost the functionality completely ... no right/left click possible. Windows8 detects the mouse correctly as DELL BLUETOOTH TRAVEL MOUSE with the correct picture of the mouse.  This was not being displayed/listed before I had installed WIDCOMM Broadcom software.

Currently am able to use only the touch pad on the laptop for mouse functions.
