Control Utility Shows Error...
For some reason my Control Utility is showing an error aka.. ("!") The computer still connects to the internet, however; the Control Utility shows that it is not connected.
This is causing me to not be able to connect to any other computers that are setup on the network, and could quite possibly be the reason why my POP3 will not connect. (but that's a whole seperate issue)
Please post any info or tips that could be helpful. Ohh by the way, I can connect to the router if I type http://my.router
Thanks,
-Cox

Well, is there anyway to fix this error. I've had the system for about 6 months now.....and this is the first time I've had any errors. I have the 1184 Router.
As for the e-mail.... I know for a fact that the POP3 and SMTP and every other setting is correct. I also cannot connect to any other computer on my network. I can see the router, but that's it!

Although you don't say so, it looks like your router is a True Mobile 2300. If that's the case, then the reason you are getting the error about not being connected is because the stupid software has a bug in it and looks for the router at the wrong IP address. Forget the software and configure everything through the web based configuration utility at http://my.router.
This is not likely the reason you can't connect to pop3 server. Double check the address you have given for the pop3 server.

all of the computers are running XP. They all have been working fine for the past 6 months, until 2 weeks ago. all of the firewalls have been disabled.
I can't really test the modem theory, because the computer is far from the router or regular phone jack. That's why I'm running a wireless system.
My other computers are doing awesome, No errors.....They all connect just fine to SMTP and POP3 server

Even with the 1184, you do not the software. Everything you would do with the software you can do with the web based configuration utility. Which version of Windows are you running on all computers on your network? If any are running XP, have you disabled the firewall on all local area connections? Have you enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP? Have you designated drives or folders as shared resources?
As for the pop3 problem, can you connect if you bypass the router and connect directly to the modem?
