Subject: Setting Up Redundancy with Static Routes on S5248F-ON Switches(similar to Cisco's IP SLA)

Hi All,

We are using two S5248F-ON switches in our core network, configured with VLT. We want to set up redundancy with two different ISP links using static routes. If the primary link goes down, the secondary link should automatically take over. I am looking for a solution similar to Cisco's IP SLA behavior.

Has anyone implemented something like this before? Any concerns or suggestions? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm not very great at networking, so I spoke to one of my colleague in networking to find out what's the best next thing for S5248F close to Cisco's IP SLA.

You will probably need policy-based routing and also tracking. Tracking is to check each interface heartbeat (keepalive status) if one ISP link goes down then other ISP link has to be taken over the packets rights.
