nsrndmp_recover spawn and stream limitation
Hi All
Realizing that during NDMP recover, more than one nsrndmp_recover process spawned. (backed up using DSA method)
There are 4 streams limitation (cant increase, physical limitation). Day time 3 backup sessions active. Expected to use 1 for restore.
Any way to limit the number of spawn so that these message not thrown and halts/aborts restore?
42619:nsrndmp_recover: NDMP Service Error: Active NDMP backup/restore streams reach the maximum concurrent streams supported 4 (at the moment only 3 is active). No more NDMP sessions can be started. Wait current backup/restore sessions finish before start new ones.
42597:nsrndmp_recover: data connect: failed to establish connection
42849:nsrndmp_recover: Unable to start the NDMP restore process.

Thank you

To me this sounds as setting on Celerra itself (check Celerra backup guide). This can be changed away from default 4 per data mover, but depends on configuration of Celerra DM and not just wishes - support should check if this is recommended in your case or not.

Thierry,
How did you configure it in the first place? I had, for example, 400 shares and I used 2 streams - no issues there. I could have used 4 where I would hit default limit of dm. If you wish to change that, talk to support. If you wish to limit number of session created by NSR towards ndmpd, use client parallelism.
