New groupwise server but data has old server name; how can I retrieve

Hi all. Been a while since i've been here. This is in question of the following: i had an old server called CTCGW. well it ran out of space and I set up a new one called GW7X. This is an email server. My question is can I restore data once I get networker up and running (it's not working on GW7X; i posted the error about TSA connection) or is it keyed to the server name. Basically can I get any of my mail back for 3 months (that's how long I keep it) off of tape since it wasn't saved on the GW7X server?

If you are looking for normal Legato restores, then I believe this is the process:
1. Create a new client named CTCGW and in the Remote Access field add the appropriate user (root or administrator...) and the new server, such as administrator@GW7X.
2. Use scanner on the volume(s) with data to be restored.

At that point you should be able to browse the scanner'ed backups from CTCGW and select them for recovery to authorizied servers.

I hope that helps,
Paul

Licenses are only used for backup, not for recover, so you won't need a license for the "dummy" client that you create.

Does this consume a license do you know? The one I took out of the tree had the license i'm now using on the new one
