Index Lost But Still Usable!!!

We moved index files 2 month ago to another partition, but for some reason we lost that partition data a few days ago, so we are supposed to have lost all index information of that time, but we can see all indexes from 2 years ago until now we can recover data for any time we want, but indexes doesn't exist!!! how does networker show them!!!!!!

If you run "nsrck -L1 ", does it show the new or old location of the indexes?

I checked using both command, it refers to the new location of indexes that contains the indexes for a few last days, not for 2 years!!! but networker has the whole index history for all clients. I guess there must be some temporary space that networker is referring there.

Hello,

have you checked your client for an 'index path' which may be different than the usual /nsr/index/...?

In the NMC, the 'Globals (2 of 2)' tab of your client properties (is it left blank ?)

Am just curious on how you relocated the index. My questions;

1. Did you move the indices from the original location or did you copy them out? If you did copy them out are the original indices still present in the original location?

2. Did you change the index path in globals 2 of 2 in the networker gui?

The reason behind this is, if you did not move and copied the indices to the new location and if the original indicies still remain in the original location, networker will pick up the indicies from the original location and write new stuff there as well if the new path is not available. As to the second question, if you did not make this change, networker will always write to the original location.
