U2723QE, which mode for calibration Custom/sRGB?
Hi Dell Expert,
I would like to ask which mode should I use to calibrate this panel as that this monitor is certainly take many step in Wide Gamut territory. I'm using X-Rite i1 Display Pro Plus + Display Cal.
As that I'm enthusiast photographer, I've been working with 100 sRGB monitor (Not wide gamut) for long time and to get the best out of monitor. I always use "Custom Mode", so that I can primary adjust red green blue before start calibration.
But from what I've read around forum, sometime wide gamut display may need some different adjustment? Because it may display oversaturated color?
1. Should I use Custom mode as I always did to get the best out of monitor?
2. Or use sRGB mode and calibrate on top of that sRGB preset mode (Can't adjust R/G/B)

ok After I've done many Calibration Experiment myself, I would like to share result with other user:
1. Calibration done on " Custom Mode" which can primary adjust RGB value provide "best result show maximum performance of the screen panel" on both brightness 80-120CD/m2 and Maximum Brightness
2. Using "Custom Mode" on normal usage non color manage program will show over-staurated color
3. Calibrate on Top of "sRGB preset" mode provide best color Accuracy on sRGB Gamut due to that it "Clamp" the color within sRGB range. Calibration result show 97%+ sRGB while dcip3 and adobeRGB color percentage drop down significantly
4. Calibration done on top of Custom mode yield better result than calibration on top of DCI-P3 mode
So My suggestion is that we need 3 color profile for 3 different situation
1) Calibrate on "sRGB OSD preset" Target brightness btw 80-120CD -> for photo editing / normal usage
2) Calibrate on "Custom Mode" Target brightness (80-120CD)-> for watching Movie
3) Calibrate on "Custom Mode" Target brightness (Max)-> for watching HDR Movie
