U2718Q, HDR not working, set Smart HDR to ON

I'm running two monitors, a legacy DELL 2709W (Primary) and the new DELL U2718Q (Secondary) in Windows 10. The problem is that I cannot get the U2718Q to show up as supporting HDR in any scenario.

If I play HDR content in Windows 10 Films & TV it looks incredibly over saturated. SDR content plays fine.

According to this link from DELL, I meet all the pre-requisites. I'm running a GeForce GTX 970 and the U2718Q is running firmware M2B102 and is connected via HDMI.In addition I have installed the DELL Display Manager software and have also ensured the driver for the U2718Q has also been installed.

However, there is still no option in Windows 10 Settings -> System -> Display to enable HDR and a dxdiag detects the U2718Q as not supporting HDR - see dxdiag output here and this Windows 10 HDR troubleshooter from Microsoft which details what dxdiag should be reporting if HDR support has been detected.I've also ensured I'm running the latest Nvidia drivers 398.11 released.

Any help appreciated. Bit of a loss at this point.

OK, I resolved this issue and it was down to me not reading the manual - specifically page 39 referring to Smart HDR.

The reason was that Smart HDR in the OSD menu Display section of the Monitor menu was set to Off. Setting it to On caused the monitor to re-initialize and suddenly show up in dxdiag as supporting HDR and in Windows 10 Display Settings the option to enable HDR and advanced color settings appeared.

* Open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display)
* Go to Display
* Go to Smart HDR
* Set to On
* Exit the OSD menu

Note: A pre-requisite for the Smart HDR option being accessible in the Monitor OSD menu is that the monitor is connected via HDMI and not a DisplayPort cable.

I received my U2718Q today and cannot turn HDR on in Windows 10

I can be set to HDR with my PS4 but when connected to Windows, the display setting page didn't show up HDR options.

I've installed monitor driver from DELL but still cannot turn it on.

Check with windows' dxdiag and the information shows that it did not runs at HDR color space.

Is there anything else need to install besides driver from DELL?

Also my Dell Display Manager Application also can't run properly. Every time I try to open it shows require a supported DELL monitor and connection.

I'm using laptop Gigabyte P-34kv5

Graphic card is intel HD 530 and Nvidia GTX 965m

Probably a bit late, but... make sure your GFX card (965m) supports HDR and make sure HDR is enabled in the Monitor menu that you manage with your fingers (bottom right). This wasn't the case for me (SmartHDR was OFF) and as a result dxdiag *did not* show up as supporting HDR colorspace. When I switched it on in the menu with my greasy paws and re-ran dxdiag, it showed up as supporting HDR.

I have the same monitor setup as you (legacy 2709W and shiny new U2718Q) but I'm running on a GTX 970 desktop graphics adapter.
