How do I tilt my Flat Panel Monitor?

I have a 15" Dell Flat Panel Display Monitor.  It looks like it can tilt back a little bit, but when I tried, it didn't seem to want to move and I was afraid to do it harder.  Does this monitor tilt back?  If so, how am I supposed to do it?

look, IF IT CAN TILT BACK it will do so EASILY. you shouldnt need to apply alot of pressure. if it can tahts wat will happen. and y do you want to anyway. there is no reason to want to tilt the monitor i see.

But it really looks like mine can tilt.  I would REALLY like to tilt it back...  And why would Dell make a Monitor that doesn't tilt?  Can a forum moderator please respond to my question?

dan_e6,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Here is some information about the tilt on this monitor.

Tilt Base: Dell™ E151FPb Flat Panel Color Monitor User's Guide

Tilt Base

With the Tilt base, you can tilt the display for the most comfortable viewing angle.

Install the Extension Base

Assemble the extension base. Place the arrow on the base and the front side of the monitor in corresponding direction. Arrow on base indicates the front of Base.

Detach the Extension Base

Place monitor face down on soft surface. Hold the back of the monitor with one hand. The other hand push the button on the base and detach the base in the direction of the arrow.

The one picture you showed said that the monitor can tilt back 20 degrees by pushing back on the top.  I tried this with mine, and all that happened was the base came up from the desk, meaning that the monitor itself wasn't tilting...  I'm afraid to do it harder though, because I don't want to break the monitor.... Any advice, Dell-Jesse?

js11288,

Try holding the base and tilting the monitor to see if that will work for you.
