Dell Warranty

Is it normal on a Dell extended warranty, that upon replacement of a Dell P1130 21" CRT monitor to replace the monitor with a refurbished monitor? I didn't purchase a refurbished monitor.

It is normal after the 21 day return period. I agree that you paid for a new monitor and should, therefore, receive new monitors as replacements. Conversely, if there is any problem with the replacement they will replace it again until you are happy. Most refurbs are actually just products that were returned for whatever reason and are actually *new*. Anything that was returned because of a defect was fixed and checked, and a second round of quality control is never a bad thing. I know it's one of those "principle of the thing" situations, but it's not something I would worry about. I had to RMA a monitor and they sent me a refurb replacement, which upset me a bit at first, but it was perfect when I got it, and so I really can't complain.

hope that helps!

How is one to compare when the monitor that you have is a Trinitron, the one I received is not, and it is not a ViewSonic? It is a P1230 no-name. ViewSonic - G220fb 21-inch CRT Monitor. is what come up in a search for a P1230 under monitors.
