iDrac9 monitoring in SCOM.

Is it possible to monitor the iDrac9 in SCOM without OMIMSSC and without the installation of additional software on the server?

I can't seem to get the 14th gen in to SCOM for monitoring. For the older iDrac's I can use the Drac monitoring mp and use SNMP. But this does not seem to be possible for the iDrac9.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to Dell.

Dell EMC Server Management Pack Suite v7.0 for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager was the last release with support of iDRAC9, without OMIMSSC almost 1-2 year ago.

SCOM with OMIMSSC have great feature with improved performance & usability. If you have any challenge in setting up OMIMSSC we should be able to help you better.

Hi,

Are you sure idrac9 is supported trough snmp? When you look at the object discoveries no idrac9 is found. Only idrac6 to idrac8 are there.

Please investigate and confirm!

If not supported, Dell should fix this ASAP.

Hi,

Yes you are right, DRAC monitoring supports upto iDRAC8 using SNMP. Monitoring of iDRAC9 is supported with OMIMSSC or through agent based monitoring (using iSM or OMSA on the managed server). For agent free (or 'without installing other software on the server'), OMIMSSC appliance is the available solution.

Anjana
