Swap display panels on 2 latitude 7490s
I posted recently about 4 Latitude 7490s that I purchased. 2 don't work (Powers on the off after 2 seconds. Believe its motherboard related issue) and 2 that work. One of the working units has a cracked display and I was thinking of taking a panel from one of the non working units and switching it with the cracked display.
I see the cracked display is part code 4VTXP which is a Super Low Power display and one of the panels from a dead unit is part code R6D8G.
I was looking on parts-people and see there is a note for the SLP display that says "NOTE: This is a Low Power LCD screen, sometimes called Super Low Power or SLP; this is NOT a compatible replacement for 7490 systems with the standard FHD panel. Match your part number or give us a call if you're not sure which screen to select."
So I am wondering can I take a panel from the dead unit which does not have a SLP display and use it on the machine which has an SLP display? It sounds like I can but I want to know if anyone has done this before? Would it be possible to put that SLP display on a machine that didn't have it?
I should note that the 2 dead units are from 2018 while the 2 working units are from 2019. The 2019 units have IR webcams while the 2018 units do not. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

The statement is pretty clear that you cannot swap display types. It does not appear there are different mainboards for the various models of this system, but there are different wiring harnesses. At minimum you'll need to swap the wiring harness to the one that accompanied the system with the low power LCD.
There are so many different configurations of these -- touch/non touch, standard/SLP display, etc. that anything other than a direct part for part replacement is going to be an experiment.

@ejn63 Figured as much. Thanks for the information. I found a display that I will get on order. Still unsure why the 2018 units don't work. I don't think they are worth obtaining a new motherboard for them.

@petermuss One issue. The display that is cracked has an IR webcam. Would like to keep that. The display that I would install from a dead unit does not have the IR webcam. The displays are slightly different around the cameras so I don't think I can just swap the cameras nor do I think the cables have the correct wires.

Assuming it's a touchscreen, the wiring harness should be this one:

And the display bezel should be this one:
