SD Card Reader Not Working

Hello,

Computer: Dell Latitude E6430

The SD card reader does semi work since it shows up as a removable disk but if you try to click on it, it says:

"Please insert disk into a Removable Disk (E:)"

In properties on the SD reader is says:

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

Anything anyone can do to help?

Fixed!!!

I just downloaded the file from the following link and installed, even after a few error messages the installation carried on and the inserted SD card was instantly recognized

What were you doing before you encountered this problem?

I think this happened a few years ago and I can't remember. It might have happened when I upgraded to windows 10 but not too sure.

The driver that Dell has as the default driver (O2Micro Flash Memory Card Windows Driver) does not work. Go to the device manager and uninstall and check delete driver then search for new hardware then install generic (SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller). You can just let windows install it.
