I bought used on ebay and it came with 1x16 Micron RAM. Will 2400MhZ memory give advantage over 2133 or is it even supported?

No, 16 is the max. See this from Crucial--
https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Dell/latitude-e7470#MEMORYFilters
What makes you think you have only one chip? 16gb of ram usually means 8gb in each slot. There is no 16 gb ram chip on Crucial's site.

2400MHz memory will work but will clock down to 2133MHz
Your CPU memory bus speed is 2133MHz
https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/88190/intel-core-i5-6300u-processor-3m-cache-up-to-3-00-ghz.html
If you plan and are able to "Overclock" your memory then 2400MHz would be beneficial.

I have Latitude E7470 (i7 6th Gen)too. I want to upgrade my ram to 32 Gb (16Gbx2). The specification shows the maximum ram capacity is 16Gb.
So, let me know can I upgrade 32Gb ram is ok or not?
Thanks

What memory did you end up using for this to work? I have read elsewhere (https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/4gse0g/dell_latitude_e7470_max_ram/) that Crucial's 2400 32GB kit (CT2K16G4SFD824A) wouldn't boot. Please advise, thanks!

If you want to try make sure the seller has a good return policy.

added 8 GB, the slot is compatible with RAM up to 16GB. It's 24 GB now, just enough to install mac on Dell.
added 8 GB RAM, total is 24 GB
