Hello. I have Dell Latitude E7470 with 1x16GB RAM. I wanted to know if device supports 32 GB total ram so I could add additional 16 GB module to second free slot...

I bought used on ebay and it came with 1x16 Micron RAM. Will 2400MhZ memory give advantage over 2133 or is it even supported?

No, 16 is the max. See this from Crucial--

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Dell/latitude-e7470#MEMORYFilters

What makes you think you have only one chip? 16gb of ram usually means 8gb in each slot. There is no 16 gb ram chip on Crucial's site.

@jijibu

2400MHz memory will work but will clock down to 2133MHz

Your CPU memory bus speed is 2133MHz

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/88190/intel-core-i5-6300u-processor-3m-cache-up-to-3-00-ghz.html

If you plan and are able to "Overclock" your memory then 2400MHz would be beneficial.

I have Latitude E7470 (i7 6th Gen)too. I want to upgrade my ram to 32 Gb (16Gbx2). The specification shows the maximum ram capacity is 16Gb.

So, let me know can I upgrade 32Gb ram is ok or not?

What memory did you end up using for this to work? I have read elsewhere (https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/4gse0g/dell_latitude_e7470_max_ram/) that Crucial's 2400 32GB kit (CT2K16G4SFD824A) wouldn't boot. Please advise, thanks!

Would you like to share SODIM brand and type to upgrade the Dell E7470 become 32GB?

There are marketplace inform that Dell E7470 are capable to upgrade to 64GB, I am interested to do so.

32GB is the MAX for that CPU.

If you want to try make sure the seller has a good return policy.
