Latitude 5450 speakers stopped working in Teams after most recent audio driver update. All other audio sources work

Latitude 5450

Latitude 5450

Since the most recent Realtek driver update 18-Dec-2024, 2- Latitude 5450 speakers have stopped working in MS Teams. Youtube, Pandora, Youtube TV, mp3, mp4, wav files work fine. ONLY Teams do the speakers not work. Teams settings checked and rechecked, Teams cache cleared twice, Audio driver version 6.0.9706.2, A07. I will attempt a driver roll back, but company compliance requirement will force v 6.0.9706.2, A07 to reinstall on next check in.

@dcomiskey1  we have come across this issue and found a workaround that has seemed to help, by disabling audio enhancements in Advance sound settings. This may work for any of you as well. I am curious if anyone has tried using Dell’s Optimizer application to see if it helps the audio on this model as well. I am currently unable to test this application without another units approval(enterprise and such restrictions).

Is the issue with the teams app, the web version of Teams, or both?

The app, browser Teams works ok. I am going to try uninstalling the Teams app and reinstalling.

After reinstalling the Teams desktop app, the caller heard me say 1 word and then silence again. The user sees me talking from the blue box appearing around me as I speak, but the user hears nothing. Plug in a USB headset and everything is good.

Same issue at our company. Several users have no sound in Teams (desktop app) calls, but their mic works. Calls are fine in the browser through the web version of Teams. All other apps are working correctly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Realtek drivers and Teams. Tried rolling back the driver too, but no luck there. Computers are XPS 15 9520.

I'm having the same issue on Latitude 5450.  No audio through the speakers only in Teams though.  Youtube works fine.

The funny part is that when a headset is connected the user can hear audio,

I also am experiencing this issue within the Teams desktop app exclusively. Fun times figuring out that it was a driver issue.

@slimjim2027 I rolled back to the A04 driver, and the issue was not resolved.

I then installed the A02 driver and the user was able to communicate with me on Teams.

You just confirmed a suspicion I had this afternoon. We have a user with a 7450 who can't hear audio in Teams, but sound works for ALL other sources (like YouTube). I'm going to downgrade the driver soon and report back here.

The A02 driver is located here: Realtek High Definition Audio Driver | Driver Details | Dell US

@DELL-Nat M

Our 7450 has ALL the latest updates, per Command Update. That's how the Realtek was updated. BIOS would also be the latest (1.10.2).
