Latitude 5330 and WD19(S) dock issues with external display
New Latitude 5330 running Windows 10 or 11, when connected to a WD19 or WD19S and dual 24" Dell monitors (DisplayPort) and one of the monitors will randomly go blank for a few seconds and then come back on. It can happen to either monitor but never both at the same time. At first we thought the dock firmware was the problem so we updated all the docks to the latest firmware. This fixed the issue for some users but not all. BIOS is at 1.10.xx as well. Graphics driver is latest driver available on Dell's website.

We have the same issue. At first, we thought it was one of the dock/monitors/cables but after replacing them all, the issue persisted. The 5330 model has a lot of display connectivity issues in our organization. Some simply don't connect to displays until they've been restarted twice (even when connecting to a Dell UltraSharp hub monitor). Hoping that Dell fixes it soon as we now own 185 of these devices and many get used with multiple displays.

I should add we've tried swapping cables, HDMI instead of DP, different monitors etc.

Hi @tmbaCCmn and @TPSAdmin
I agree, a lot of people have this issue with latitude 5x30 and external display through type-c docking station (but also with a simple hdmi adapter!).
......just one of many threads!

Have you found some solution?
It is clear that DELL could fix, have you received any support?

We tried the graphics driver and it didn't help.

Problems with the WD15 and Dell U2422HE screen with built in docking station.

today one of my colleagues switched me to an WD19 which worked. IMO it happened out of the blue, no dell software updates. stopped working since yesterday.
Also boot problems for the last 2 weeks on latitude 5330, had to switch of camera, fingerprint and internal audio to get it booting again. however that behavior is not consistent. it also stopped booting with those settings disabled. got it working again by selecting last working bios configuration.
will yet try to reset the entire bios.
kind of frusty!

We have the same issues. Latitude 5320's and WDS19S docks are fine. The same docking station with 5330+ has the blanking display issues, tried multiple different WDS19S docks, same issue. Older WDS15 docks are fine.
Dell support have been no help, saying to try different cables. Already tried that, even had laptop motherboard replaced, same issues.
Drivers firmware all up to date.

I am having a similar issue. Monitors stopped working for no apparent reason while using the docking station. 2 monitors connected via display port to a Dell Latitude through Dock WD19. Reboots, driver updates do not fix. Worked for two days then stopped.

We have multiple customers with 5530 and WD19S reporting this problem. Changing docks, updating has not resolved this up till now. Glad to see we are not the only ones.

Same issue here, Latitude 5530 and 7430's with Dell WD19s docks and two 1080p monitors, have applied firmware updates, replaced cables and docks and the same problem persists. For one user, I replaced their monitors and that seems to have helped but it's obviously not cost effective or practical to do that for everyone.
Another problem with this dock and monitors is that the resolution appears to randomly change to something much lower resulting in heavily distorted images, unreadable text and extremely delayed performance. I don't recall what I did to fix it, but powercycling the monitor and toggling sources doesn't help. If I remember correctly, I think we had to powercycle the dock.
Oddly, I'm using the same dock on a Dell Vostro 5620 with two monitors (one 2K and one 4K) and do not have any issues.

Is there any one from Dell support looking into this problem? I can't deploy machines and docks when all the of these docks have the same problem.

Hi 8track, we've been speaking with a Dell service accounts manager who is trying to fast-track a solution. We've seen the Latitude 5330 devices connecting to monitor hubs without issues now but still flickering screens when using the docking hubs.

When we say flickering screens, we mean one of the two monitors blanks out for a second or two and then comes back on....We've gotten nowhere with Dell.

Same here with Latitude 5430 and Dell PRECISION 5570 connected to WS19, WS19TBS, WS22TB4.
Driver "Intel® Arc™ &Iris® Xe Grafik – WHQL" 31.0.101.4255 fixed the problem for users who had black screen but it turn's on and off 5 times per day for 1-2seconds

My WD19S that was working well with a Vostro at home now has the same problem with only one monitor being detected. For a time, both external monitors weren't being detected but I left the dock unplugged for a few hours then plugged it back in and it's working again... for now.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to open the docking station case and find a bunch of blistered capacitors or other failing components inside reminiscent of Dell business desktops circa 2005
