laptop restarts automatically when going to sleep
hello everyone, my latitude5410 restarts sometimes when the screen turns to black and prepares to sleep. I have read many articles and asked dell service, but nothing works. The follows are some related meaures my laptop has been set:
1. Bios is up to date, performance-> intel speedstep and c-stats control are unchecked.
2. control panel -> power options -> fast boot is unchecked
3. some suggest to disable sleep mode either in bios or in win10, but I really prefer to have sleep mode.
4. some suggest in bios to change sata config from "raid on" to "achi", but some say it may cause boot problem or crash

Hi Rexandranger, I am experiencing a very similar issue to this. I have a Latitude 7420, I have tried Updating the BIOS, switching RAID to AHCI, all this you suggested above, and my users computers are still rebooting when their computers are asleep, This can cause them to lose work. After it reboots it does a dell Recovery scan, and it comes back clean, with no errors. then they can restart the computer and get back in, however The even viewer is showing a user POWER Action every second. I am wondering if this has something to do with it. Seems to be when the computer goes to sleep or hibernates that causes the computer to hard shut down.

To do this, follow the steps below: Open the start menu and type Power options, then click on the search result Power and sleep settings. Once in the settings window, click on Additional Power Settings. Now go to Choose the behavior of the Start and Shutdown buttons.

Same here: if I am working on my Dell Latitude 7380 and put it in Sleep mode (through the Start menu or by closing the lid with the proper settings in Additional Power Settings menu in Win 10), then the PC reboots when I try to turn it back on. Basically, if I push the power button to turn back on the PC, I have the Dell logo but Windows does not boot. I have to press the power button again and keep it pressed until the PC boots and the Windows startup wheel dot logo shows up.
I updated the BIOS a couple of months ago hoping it would solve this issue but without luck: the problem remains. Any idea/BIOS update would be greatly appreciated.
I am very disappointed Dell has not helped to treat this issue.
