High memory usage for Waves Maxxaudio Service Application

HI,

I have a Latitude 7400 laptop.

I've recently noticed that the headphone jack didn't work (in normal condition, I used an USB headphone). After reading the Dell Community cases, I've installed the Waves MaxxAudio driver and application.

This has solved my sound issue as now the jack is working properly. However, looking processes using the task manager, I can observe that the Waves Maxxaudio Service Application is consuming about 460MB without even playing any sound. For infomation, I would like to only use the jack to listen to video or making internet phone calls.

Is that normal that this application is using so much memory ?? (I need this memory for other processes !).

I had the same problem , but now here is my situation

Try updating the application or updating your driver, i also turned off every single feature from the app inside ,

It is the same problem here

This app consumes 250 - 500 MB of precious memory and my Windows 10 is already at 90% memory usage

Had this problem after upgrading to Windows 11.  
Going to the Dell Support site I re-downliaded the Waves Maxx Audio installer (yes it was the same version as already installed) and ran the install.  
Completely normal memory usage afterwards (4-5mb).

So I just recently upgraded to Windows 11 and my machine has started having memory exhaustion issues.  WavesSvc64.exe is always the top memory consuming process at 600+ MB.  I just did a reinstall as you mentioned, but after reboot it still immediately starts at around 400MB.  So I guess this did not work for me

So I uninstalled everything and my system went back to Windows HD audio after a reboot, no more realtek.  Audio was working.  I intended to leave it this way, but after another Win update forced me to reboot again, all of a sudden I had no audio devices at all and Windows stated I had no drivers for the device.  Not sure what that is all about.

At any rate, went through the update driver wizard and went through Windows update, it started downloading Realtek drivers again.  After another reboot, I had audio again, but the Waves Maxx exe was back, although with a different icon as well as a different name:  WavesSysSvc64.exe.  

At any rate this new exe is only taking 3-4MB of RAM so looks like the issue is resolved.

I am facing similar issues and more. I have an Inspiron 14 5000 and my PC also has started to act weird lately. It's only a couple of years old so I am concerned. I also have been facing some issues where my pc goes into a strange pixelated display and gets stuck there leaving me no choice but to force shutdown. I hope they are working on fixes.

my DELL Latitude 5320 also has problem, this application took my memory morethan 50% (2042.1MB) as below picture

What a worthless fix, I'll save everyone their time and their ears with this poorly put together click bait.

- Log off other user accounts if you have multiple logged in. . . that's their fix. . .

the best solution to this is to completely uninstall the driver using BCUninstaller (uninstall both Waves MaxxAudio and Reatek). After that, open Device Manager (search it in searchbar) and uninstall any audio devices. Restart your laptop then reinstall the driver provided by Dell. I managed to get its ram usage dropped from 600MB down to around 150-200MB.

This is the third time I've typed this, Dell's moderation team doesn't seem to help their customer fix their problem apparently.

anyway, I've found (sort of) a solution to this problem: Remove the Realtek driver provided by Dell that is dependent on MaxxAudio and install a modded version of the Realtek driver.

Step 1: Disable auto driver update using this guide: https://www.top-password.com/blog/change-device-installation-settings-in-windows/#:~:text=Press%20the%20Windows%20key%20%2B%20R,%E2%80%9CDevice%20Installation%20Settings%E2%80%9D%20button.

Step 2: Follow the README.md in this repo to install the modded driver: https://github.com/pal1000/Realtek-UAD-generic

Optional: normally, Realtek Audio Console will automatically be installed when you finish installing the driver. But if it doesn't, the repo also have an offline installer for you to install it.

Same issue here, Latitude 5420, latest Windows 11 and latest Realtek driver from support.dell.com, released 2022-11-09.

While the driver upgrade lowered Wavemaxx ram-usage from 2.2GB to 1400, its still quite high.

I also have same issue. 751MB on windows 11. Very disappointed it hasn't been resolved yet.
