System model (latitude E6530, 5550, etc.)?  KVM switch model?  What type of video connection (displayport, HDMI, etc.)?

What is your system model? Are you using any Docking stations? Please provide us additional details.

try connecting the monitor directly to the laptop to rule out any issues with the laptop or monitor itself. If it works, then check the KVM switch’s connections and ensure it supports video signals properly
