Did troubleshooter break my biometric firmware?

Had a problem with my laptop suddenly not being connected to the internet (using ethernet cable), couldn't work out why So I ended up using Windows 11 network troubleshooter which made it restart (I would have preferred the way Windows 10 does it online)

The internet connection went back to normal but the fingerprint scanner did nothing, Device driver said 'no problems with biometric sensor and control vault' and no updates available, sfc and dism reported no problems;

In the end I uninstalled the control vault driver and installed the Controlvault3 application which got it working (without having to redo my fingerprint setup)

Question is - next time I have a network problem do I trust the troubleshooter or do things the old fashioned way and use command line to reset things?

*Using Windows 11 (not 10)

Hello,
next time disable IP v6 and reboot your device to restore network connection.
