Dell Latitude E6430 Laptop change BIOS Mode from Legacy to UEFI

I have a Dell Latitude E6430 that is running Windows 10 Pro.

I recently redlaced the original HDD with a 500GB  SSD.  This change really sped up the laptop. It used to take around 3 minutes to boot but now takes less than 45  minutes. As part of the conversion  I reconfigured the disk and added a Data partition. See the following:  Is it worth the trouble to go from  Legacy to UEFI?Drive E.jpg

Only if you need UEFI security and are willing to completely reinstall Windows, which will be required.

Otherwise, leave it as is.

Thank you for your reply. There are a few posts on the internet stating that you can move from Legacy to UEFI without reinstalling Windows 10!

While there are ways to attempt that, don't count on it -- meaning, make and verify a full system backup before you try.  The chances that something will go wrong, rendering the system unbootable are high.

The system has been running in legacy mode for a decade -- and the UEFI support on this system is older, so it may not be worth the risk of switching modes at this point.

Thank you for your advice.

On another topic would you recommend inreasing the ram from 4gb to 16gb, on this Laptop or am I just wasting money?
