Best CPU to upgrade a Latitude e5520 to
Latitude E5520
I have an e5520 with an i3-2310m and I'd like to upgrade CPUs, after doing several hours of research I'm more confused than when I started. Using cpu-upgrade.com I looked at the processors that are compatible with my chipset (HM65) and socket (PGA988B / G2). This led me to believe the best CPU for my pc was the i7-3610qe. However, after researching a bit more it seems that some people say ALL 3rd gen Intel CPUs are not compatible with my HM65 chipset, ignoring the difference in power usage (as it has been proven that 45w processors can work in this 35w rated laptop) will this CPU work like cpu-upgrade says? If not, will the i7-2860qm work, as its 2nd gen?
Ignoring the differences in chipset, is it likely that the BIOS will support either of these processors? (it is fully upgraded to A14)
Thanks for any help

The E5520 is Sandy Bridge (2nd gen) only. To run the Ivy Bridge 3rd gen, you need the E5530.
