XPS 17 Screen Won't Turn Back On

My Dell XPS 17 (w/ 3D screen) is set to the high performance power plan.  When the laptop is plugged in it is set to turn off the display after 1 hour.  When that occurs, the screen is blank (black) and will not turn back on.  I have to close the laptop lid (which puts the laptop to sleep), re-open the laptop lid, and push the power button to turn the system back on.

Is there a setting that I need to adjust to resolve this issue?  One would think that you should be able to come back to the laptop after an hour, wake the display, and continue working without having to close the lid and put the laptop to sleep.

Fixed.  Tried downloading the latest Nvidia suggested driver v285.62 - didn't work, doesn't recognize the Nvidia GeForce GT 555M card.  Ended up downloading and installing a beta driver version v290.53 (www.geforce.com/.../40617), which resolved the issue.

This is a problem on 3D models, try set your screen resolution from 120hz when not using 3D to 60hz.I had this problem but changed the resolution and set my XPS 17 not too sleep anymore.Dell and Nvidia were working on a fix,not sure if they did it yet because I've not had the problem since June. But I've not allowed it to happen either.I'm on bios A12 and most other drivers are up to date.

Thanks - I had hoped that would've worked.  Have set the power plan to dell recommended; same results; switched to high performance power plan; same results.  BIOS is already at A14.

Thanks.  Still having this issue with my XPS 17 3D Display.  Drivers are up to date;  Re-installed Dell provided Nvidia GeForce GT 555M v269.59 driver; no change.  Dell Tech Support is investigating -- no resolution at this time.
