XPS 15z AC adapter plugged in and battery not charging
Could you kindly help me with this problem: I just had a battery replacement for my Dell XPS 15z.. Prior to the installation of the new battery, the machine could only work with the AC adapter plugged in, raising the suspicion that the battery was defective. However, now that a new battery has been installed, the battery does not charge even whiles the AC adapter is stilled plugged in. Thanks a lot.

Hi kusidellcom,
I would like you to check if the AC adapter is getting detected in BIOS and also the status of battery under ‘Battery Health’. Please follow the steps mentioned below to check the above details.
1. Start the computer by pressing the power button
2. Press the F2 key 2-3 times
3. You will now be on the BIOS screen
4. Under the Main Tab look for the option that says AC Adapter Type
5. If the Adapter Type says Unknown or None with the adapter plugged in.
6. Reconnect the adapter to the machine and if the status now shows as Unknown then the AC Adapter needs to be replaced.
7. Using the arrow keys navigate to ‘Advanced’ tab.
8. Check the ‘Battery Health’ status.
Also, please send me a private message with the computer's service tag. To send a private message, click on my name and select start conversation.
Please revert back with details.

I do have the same problem. I checked in the Bios and ac charger is not detected in the BIOS. It happen few days after I upgrade the bios system. I change the battery, but it is not working. I change the ac adaptor, but is also not working. When I disconnect the battery, the computer run perfectly on ac charger and the plugin sign appear. but when I connect the battery, the plugin sign of ac charger disappear and the battery does not charge.
I look like the problem is with BIOS. I tried to install the origional BIOS, but it says that it need both battery and a.c charger. So please help me in this regard.
